Chamber Recognised Those Who Contribute to Estonian Economy
Their personal achievements in business can be set as role models.
The medal of honour of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a token of respect, recognition or gratitude of the Chamber awarded to a citizen of the Republic of Estonia or a foreign country for special services in facilitating the development of the Chamber and/or Estonian economy.
The medal of honour of the first class is awarded to a high-ranking public official or entrepreneur, the medal of the second class is given to a high-ranking public official, entrepreneur or CEO of a company and the medal of third class is given to a high-ranking public official, entrepreneur or CEO of a company or a representative of the Chamber’s staff.
Medals of honour of the first class were awarded to:
- Tiina Mõis – Genteel AS
- Enn Kunila – NG Investeeringud OÜ
- Jaak Nigul – Tarmeko KV OÜ
- Ants Sild – Baltic Computer Systems AS
Medals of honour of the second class were awarded to:
- Urmas Varblane – University of Tartu
- Väino Reinart – Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Andrus Mossov – Silberauto AS
Medals of honour of the third class were awarded to:
- Toomas Kuuda – Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- Jüri Jõema – Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications
“During the last 17 years, the Chamber has recognised 113 persons. Today, the names of 9 more people are added to this list,” said Toomas Luman, President of the Chamber. “The contribution of these people and their influence on the development of Estonian economy, consistency of entrepreneurship or facilitation of the international success of Estonian companies has been very important,” he said.
The medals of honour were awarded at the 21st Spring Ball organised for the members of the Chamber. The Chamber recognises outstanding people with the medals of honour already since the year 1999.
