Collaboration Between Teachers and Entrepreneurs Creates Future Talents!
On November 27, the Chamber of Commerce organized for the first time the event "Teachers’ Inspiration Tour: A Glimpse into the World of Entrepreneurship." Teachers from Tartu County were taken on an educational visit to various businesses in the Tartu region. This gave them the opportunity to explore modern industries, meet entrepreneurs, and share ideas on how these experiences could be integrated into education. The tour included visits to companies from different sectors: Raitwood, Salvest, and Foxway, along with a stop at the Southern Estonia Career Center of the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund.
It has often been emphasized that introducing young people and children to working life can be greatly enhanced through educational visits to businesses. Such experiences allow them to familiarize themselves with various fields and professions, helping them make more informed career choices in the future. Equally important is the awareness of teachers and other education professionals about developments in the business landscape. The goal of the tour was to connect teachers and entrepreneurs to foster mutual understanding. Teachers gained inspiration on how to link classroom learning to real-world work, using practical examples to demonstrate why certain skills and knowledge are necessary. Entrepreneurs had the chance to share their expectations for the young people who will soon be entering the job market. The importance of discipline, teamwork, and an entrepreneurial mindset was emphasized repeatedly. Initiative, problem-solving skills, and quick thinking are qualities highly valued in the job market.
Teachers Highly Appreciate the Opportunity
The fact that all spots for the inspiration tour were quickly filled demonstrates the high interest and demand for such visits among teachers. Kadi Roball, a teacher from Nõo Basic School, described the experience as eye-opening. Tiina Tooding from Tartu Tamme School added that it was a day that built a bridge between school and working life. Riina Aunap, the head of studies at Rõngu Secondary School, summarized the experience as follows:
"Participating in such a day provides a broader perspective on what’s happening in the business world—what kind of workers companies are looking for, why it’s important to study, and what common challenges schools and businesses face."
The Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the event—teachers who participated and companies that opened their doors and shared valuable insights.
Thank you to Raitwood for your support! Together, we create a better future!
