Estonian company Huuden OÜ wants to be known on the export markets as the creator and manufacturer of distinctive small buildings by the year 2025. They have already taken Finland and the UK, but they have set targets on other countries, too.
Huuden works in Tartumaa with designing and manufacturing unique wooden prefabricated buildings – mainly garden houses and small buildings. In the sector of prefabricated buildings, they focus a lot on the non-standard product development. They us a lot of arched laminated wood and curved design approach in their building structures. The design team who must be able to solve even the most difficult challenges plays an important role in the company.
The company was born based on the wish of long-term friends to bring something clearly distinctive to the market of wooden houses. They saw that each party has a specific competence that amplified each other strongly. For example, their head designer and engineer Martti Kalamees has unique experience in creating distinctive wooden structures, Martin Puusepp in design strategy and production, Villu Loonde in marketing and sales.
Three groups of clients
Based on product groups, the target groups of the company differ, but their main clients are persons who have achieved certain stability and want to enrich their gardens with an inspiring additional room. They have many family-focused clients who want to have an inspiring home office in their back yard for the summer so that they could be close to their children during daytime, if necessary. The second main group consists of middle-aged people who enjoy their time in the garden among family and friends through common activities. The third group are people who just want a private additional room – no matter the size of their garden. The common factor in all groups is the interest in solutions that are creative and different from the typical, that inspire garden owners and their families. Huuden’s products are not just practical rooms, but true eyecatchers.

The main values of Huuden are intelligence, honesty and introducing conscious processes that increases the clients’ trust in them. They give their best to ensure that their team would have intelligent people who understand how important the contribution of each team member into the whole is. It is also important to be open to change in order not to get stuck in the same old paths, instead take a few additional steps ahead in every situation and discover solutions not imagined. Great targets for exports
At the moment, Huuden’s main export markets are the UK and Finland. However, they are actively working with other markets as well. Negotiations are ongoing with companies with Denmark as well as Germany and in cooperation with the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry they are searching for partners from Sweden and Norway.
New models every year
By the year 2025, the company wishes to be known on target markets as the creator and manufacturer of unique small buildings. Their plan is to be a clearly distinctive brand in the field of prefabricated wooden houses and they have chosen a long-term strategy for that. They are planning to launch new models each year. Although, generally the company is planning to export its production, they also hope to find more clients on the domestic market, because this gives valuable input for product development. Additionally, there is a plan to create a new product range meant for children and expand the production facilities significantly by the year 2020.
