Industry To Have The Opportunity To Get Support For Erecting Pre-treatment Facilities
The Ministry of the Environment has prepared a draft act giving industrial companies the opportunity to apply for the support for erecting wastewater pre-treatment facilities. The Chamber considers the change to be positive, but proposed the ministry to increase the maximum sum of the support.
Today, the state does not offer any support for the industrial and production companies for erecting pre-treatment facilities. The Chamber, in cooperation with the Food Association and Chemical Industries Association have previously made a proposal to the Ministry of the Environment to support the erection of the pre-treatment plants for industrial companies.
We are glad to see that this proposal has been taken into account. The draft of the regulation of the Minister of the Environment that is being processed in the approval round would allow industrial and production companies to apply for the support for erecting pre-treatment facilities in the amount of up to 200,000 euros. In the opinion of the members of the Chamber, this sum is not sufficient, considering the actual cost of the pre-treatment facilities.
Therefore we sent the Ministry of the Environment a letter with a proposal to increase the maximum limit of the support for erecting the pre-treatment facilities, or to connect the support to the expenses incurred, i.e. a certain percentage of the total cost of the pre-treatment facility would be paid as support.
The draft act supports the development and implementation of integral technical measures aimed at saving and more efficient use of resources in industry, construction or service. The draft establishes up to 75,000 euros per project as the limit for the support for some industries. However, it is unclear for the Chamber, why there is a limit for some industries and to what extent other companies have the right to obtain that support. We proposed the Ministry of the Environment to give additional explanations on that limit in order for the companies to be able to interpret the application process the same way.
It is planned to enter the draft act into force pursuant to general procedure, i.e. on the third day after its publication in the State Gazette. Most probably, the industrial companies will have the opportunity to apply for the support for erecting pre-treatment facilities already in the coming months.
