Self-driving vehicles and autonomous transportation systems are here and planning to stay
Bringing autonomous vehicles to our everyday lives is not some far-fetched fantasy that may or may not happen someday - they are here already and planning to stay.
Auve Tech, standing for green, smart and affordable mobility, is manufacturing flexible level-4 autonomous shuttles for the purpose of filling the gap in public transportation by servicing the first, last and only mile use cases. Meaning areas which are not covered by public transport infrastructure or where there’s a need for smaller vehicles operating on shorter routes. Auve Tech’s shuttles are perfect fit for both narrow pedestrian roads and mixed-traffic deployments on public roads. The shuttles are easily integrated to the existing infrastructure and are flexible enough to be suitable for a variety of different customers and applications. All the shuttles are equipped with LiDARs and cameras that provide a 360-degree view of the surrounding environment in order to analyse it and react to it accordingly.
The shuttles are electric and depending on the environment and use case, can operate for around 8 hours on one charge. There are also two alternative prototypes in the development, a hydrogen shuttle in cooperation with the University of Tartu and a shuttle with supercapacitors from Skeleton Technologies. These shuttles will have the advantage of very fast charging, eliminating the need to use additional vehicles at the time of loading, thus decreasing the cost of service.
Just decades ago, self-driving cars were only mentioned in Sci-Fi movies and children’s comics, but now they are as real as ever, making today’s public transport safer and more sustainable. Auve Tech’s autonomous vehicles have already proven themselves in various conditions, having operated in various districts in 3 different countries.
