How long can the probation period be?
According to the Employment Contracts Act, the probation period lasts for 4 months. However, the employer and the employee may agree on a shorter probation period, such as 2 months or 1 week. They may also agree that no probation period applies. The duration of the probation period must be specified in the employment contract.

How precisely should the place of work be agreed upon?
The Employment Contracts Act assumes that the place of work is agreed upon with at least city or municipality-level precision. The employer and the employee may specify the place of work in the contract more narrowly or more broadly than the local government area. The place of work may be a specific address (e.g., Toom-Kooli 17), a county (e.g., Harju County), multiple counties (e.g., Harju County, Tartu County), the Republic of Estonia, multiple countries (e.g., Estonia, Finland), or an even broader area (e.g., the European Union).
